BHOO DEVI

Bhoo Devi or Bhumi Devi is the Goddess who symbolises Mother Earth. She is the companion of the third avatar of Vishnu that is Varaha. She is also known as Bhuvaani, Bhuvaneshwari, Vaishnavi, Kashyapi, Urvia and so forth. This is an elegant and imposing sculpture of Devi standing in Dwibhanga pose. The headdress is conical. The image has Ratnakundalas. The left hand is in kataka pose and the right one is stretched down.
